Five trips from Tokyo

The serenity of the Great Buddha of Kamakura
Time flies but there are things we can not ever forget. Today marks four years since a tsunami swept the Tohoku region in Japan and caused the Fukushima nuclear crisis. Before proceeding, it is the first memory to the victims of this tragedy and their families and friends. To us every 11-M we like to make recommendations for those who want to travel to Japan , because we think there is still much work to do after the tragedy and there are many ways to help such an extraordinary and beloved country. For example, traveling there.
In early April we start our third trip to Japan, and this time will be very special because it is the first thing we do with the children. To whet your appetite we recommend five trips from Tokyo that can be done in one day and with a relatively small cost if you have the great Japan Rail Pass to move around the country.

Excursion to Nikko from Tokyo

Complex Nikko Tosho-gu
It's been almost ten years since we visited Nikko but we have not forgotten its beauty. It is one of those trips that can not miss on any route, especially in a first trip to Japan. The temple complex and its natural surroundings are a perfect combination, especially Tosho-gu Shrine and its surroundings. Temples full of feudal history, lakes and waterfalls about 130 kilometers north of Tokyo. The fastest way to get from the capital of Japan's spies on a shinkansen to Utsunomiya and from there take the JR Nikko line. The journey takes about two hours.

Excursion to Kamakura from Tokyo

Jizo statues at the Hase-dera
The cultural importance of this small town is that Kamakura was the capital of Japan between 1185 and 1333. At present the aura of greatness is preserved thanks to a number of important temples, some of harmony and and unparalleled perfection. It is also the city where you can visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura inside the temple Kōtoku-in. If ye hartáis of places of worship, the city center is charming. Getting to Kamakura from Tokyo is very simple, just need to take the JR Yokosuka Line and in an hour you will be in this beautiful town.

Trip to Hakone from Tokyo

Photos of Hakone, Lake Ashi
Although the town has less than 20,000 inhabitants, it is one of the most popular excursions from Tokyo by the views that are theoretically of Mount Fuji. We say in theory because we struggled to see the world's most perfect conical volcano in the mist. The geothermal area Soun-zan and Owakudani is spectacular and the Lake Ashi is beautiful, but can be well saturated with tourists. If you have the JR Pass, you can catch a shinkansen to Odawara and thence transhipped to Hakone-Yumoto Station with the line Hakone Tozan Railway.

Tour from Tokyo Narita

Matsuri Taiko in Narita
We have all heard the town of Narita is located because that is where the major international airport in Japan. Perhaps for this reason people pass over Narita, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The village has an old town with beautiful Cuestecitas surrounded by small shops that provide it with a very authentic feel. The Narita-san Shinsho-ji is one of the most impressive temples we've seen in Japan. From Tokyo Station must transfer at Chiba station and then take the JR Sobu / Narita Rapid Line to Narita. It may take just under an hour and a half to arrive.

Excursion to Yokohama from Tokyo

The Minato Mirai from the Landmark Tower Yokohama
The second largest city in Japan is only 40 minutes from Tokyo. It can be a very interesting addition to the capital of Japan thanks to   wonders like the futuristic district of Minato Mirai 21 and the Restless Chinatown , the most popular Chinatown in Japan. To reach Yokohama from Tokyo you can take the Keihin-Tohoku or Tokaido lines. This is one of the most important ports in Asia and abysmal has grown within a century.
We hope you liked these five trips from Tokyo, now we'd like to hear yours. What are the best views from the capital of Japan for you?
