Sadhu Holy, and Hindu ascetic

In India and Nepal remain ascetics who decide to dispense with all earthly pleasure and material goods to fully engage in meditation and prepare for death. They sever what could have with everyday life and become austere, without any pretensions to survive on what they can and pray to the gods. The Hindu religion believes that this is the fourth stage of the human being (the others are in this order: study, have children and be a pilgrim) needed to achieve the light and break the cycle of reincarnation. The radical asceticism in India has around five million followers, followed the path of Lord Shiva without leaving the society and gaining the respect and reverence by their fellow citizens, who are ultimately those who alleviate their stomachs through donations. These men are known as Sadhus, or what is the same, Holy Men.

Many of them face with ash and other colors are painted, grow their hair and beards, and still others carry a trident representing Shiva. Participate in prayers and religious ceremonies of the cities, and some harsh penances as fasting long, standing for months, dragging heavy weights or pyres of fire through which autoinfringen mad fakir. His appearance is tremendously appealing to a Western that first trip to India, but not for the Hindus themselves, who are used to seeing them in the temples, in the street or sitting on the banks of rivers. Varanasi (Benares) is one of the places where the presence of Men Saints note, is that the Holy City of Ganges is sencillamene a show of life and death in full color which can never miss the faces painted saffron robes and hands raised to an outsider. They are considered totally pure, so his ashes are never thrown into the river.
During my first trip to India , I got several photographic images of their faces, always with a few rupees ahead, and it is these grants that enable them to survive the day. This post is one of those where it is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are some of them, two of which (the first) were already participants in the Exhibition of Photography Olías del Rey last winter:
The sadhus living on the street with his loneliness, his unbridled and firm faith in attaining the state of total purity, Nirvana, which put out the fire of lust, envy, greed and material needs. If they do spirit he has escaped the cycle of reincarnations to travel freely to an All Absolute. Then the suffering of earthly life will be terminated.
