Photos of Brussels, Manneken Pis
Travel to Brussels with children is clearly a good plan. The multi-talented Jean Cocteau said of the Grand Place it was the most beautiful theater in the world and in a sense can be extended to other areas of the capital of Belgium and Europe.
Brussels is a city full of peculiar amalgam and that cause children are always attentive and entertaining seeking some statue, garden, facade or wall that makes them cry a smile or a grimace of astonishment or onomatopoeia. Maybe in Spain we are wrong the information used to bombard us with a somewhat anodyne news of this city, although the reality and the day is very different in a very lively and full proposals very fun city. What we have seen in our two trips to Flanders and surely repeat.

The second time is always different, although on this occasion the company also was. Plan of boys in the city of Manneken Pis, waffles and chocolates. Teo and I alone without the burden of a stroller ride through the cobbled streets and wanting to have fun ... especially looking for ideas for my partner enjoyed the trip five years. These are some of the places to visit in Brussels with children will delight your children.

Flanders travel with two children and two visits to the Atomium in Brussels. This is one of those places that surprises the continent more than substance. You feel very small under enormous atoms (reaching 102 meters high) that remind one of those toys that both constructions like the kids.
Most striking is its spectacular panoramic viewpoint 360 in which children can feel like giant spotting the land of the Lilliputians. Both times we have visited has made us a radiant sun in Brussels and the Atomium shone with a very special aura. If you get chance Treat yourself to a meal at the restaurant located there in the highest ball. Best to get is to take the subway that leaves you off at Heysel (line 6 subway).

A few minutes walk from the Atomium is Mini-Europe , a unique theme park where children can discover the main monuments of the old continent. It is a journey spanning thousands of kilometers but shrinking as buildings to carry it out in a couple hours.
The kids were amazed with the chimes of Big Ben in the heart of London, gondolas and mandolins sound through the canals of Venice, the eruption of Vesuvius, the fall of the Berlin Wall ... and of course some of the corners Flanders delicious. There are over 300 models to municiosas not lacking even the minimum detail.

Perhaps the Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée or Belgian Comic Strip Center is not the most enjoyable to go with children (despite their educational section), but it is clear that the capital of Europe is full of references to what many consider the eighth art . The most entertaining is to walk trying to find any of the 40 murals that make up the Route of Comic and facades depicting scenes of Tintin, Asterix, Lucky Luke, enre others. If your children like cartoons you can also get close to the Museum of Comic figurines .
If you get caught in a rainy day, Brussels has many interesting museums for those who travel with children . Are useless large windows and pumps, the kids like to watch, play, play. Two good examples are the Toy Museum or Scientastic . Other plans are fun to visit the Museum of Natural Sciences (and its spectacular dinosaur gallery) or the Museum of Fantastic Art .

Brussels, a city full of parks

If something can not go wrong when traveling with children it is to stop once or several times a day in a park for the kids to play, run and have fun at home. In that sense, Brussels is a paradise. The Bois de la Cambre (and your pond with small boats) is one of the most spectacular, although practically every neighborhood has its own (or more) parks.
A proposal somewhat different, is a visit to the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken. We were very fortunate to visit, since only open three weeks a year in spring. The resort town has a look of glass and inspired many architects precursor of Art Nouveau. Inside you can find the most fascinating plant species on the planet, in fact, there are still some plants belonging to Leopold II's original plantations. Teo and I had a great time in their gardens and buildings that are like a trip through different ecosystems.
